On Thursday, we were welcomed to the University Technology of Sydney by Dr. Daryl Adair. He lectured us on the basic Australian History and the demographics of the Australian society. He talked about the history of the aboriginal people. This was very interesting because of how unknown the events are that happened to these people. He went on to explain how these people experienced extreme racism on their homeland. We were never taught about this in high school history class so it was a first for all of us.

The second part of the lecture was more sport based for us as we learned about the basic rules of the National Rugby League. This was very helpful because the majority of us would most likely not have any clue what would be going on in the game we attended that night. The rules of the game were pretty simple and seems pretty easy to follow.

That night we took a train ride to a town called Cronulla to see a rugby game. It was the Cronulla Sharks versus The Melbourne Storm. These two teams were in the championship of last years season. Cronulla is basically the equivalent to the New England Patriots of the NFL. It seemed to be a low scoring game but it was a cool experience and everyone had a blast at the game. The hometown team we were rooting for unfortunately lost 18-12 although they were the reigning champions. We had great seats in the corner of the stadium and it was a great atmosphere to see a game we've never seen before.
